Miley Cyrus sure has a lot to live up to. First her Hannah Montana movie director, Peter Chelsom, compared Cyrus to Judy Garland, Shirley Temple and Barbra Streisand.

And now, Julie Anne Robinson, director of The Last Song, says Ms. Miley could be the next Pretty Woman… "She's like Julia Roberts," Robinson recently told me. "I feel Miley can do anything—action, comedy, drama. She's got it all."

Robinson says she was turned on to the Roberts comparison after Cyrus auditioned for The Last Song. "Our director of photography, John Lindley, worked with Julia years ago and when Miley came in for the screen test, he said, 'This really reminds me of when Julia Roberts walked on set,'" Robinson said. (FYI: Lindley worked on Roberts' 1991 thriller Sleeping With the Enemy).

However, Robinson does admit she didn't know much about Cyrus before they met. "I wasn't familiar with her work. I hadn't even seen one episode of Hannah Montana," she said. "But when I met her, she's such a force. She's got this incredible power…I just thought, ‘This is going to work.' "

But one thing she couldn't get her to do was grow a few inches. Cyrus' costar and real-life boyfriend Liam Hemsworth towers over the pop star actress. During the filming of one scene, Hemsworth had to stand in a...hole! "It was so we could lower him," Robinson said with a laugh. "We had to get shots of Miley from the back of him and across his shoulder, but he's just so tall."

Miley Cyrus is not a fan of dad Billy Ray's back catalog -- she is "scared" of country music.

The "Hannah Montana" star's father achieved international fame with his 1992 single "Achy Breaky Heart," which was a chart hit around the world. But his daughter isn't a fan of the country genre. She has branded it "contrived" and insists the music makes her "nervous."

She tells Parade, "It scares me. ... It feels contrived on so many levels. Unless you're wearing a cowboy hat and cowboy boots and singing and whining about your girlfriend or boyfriend leaving you it's not going to sell. "I think that's why my dad finally got out of it. You have to wear those cowboy boots and be sweet as pie. It makes me nervous, the politics of it all."

Miley Cyrus sandwiches herself between costars Jason Earles and Emily Osment in a big group pic during the taping of a very special military episode set to premiere later this year.

The 17-year-old actress shared in a video with CNN, “My dad has always been really involved with the troops and my granddad was a Kentucky legislator so he was always really involved in showing them their support. It was really important to us to bring a little but of our personal life onto the show.”

Jason chimed in, “We didn’t want it to just be extras. We really wanted it to be about the Military families and do something for them. I’m glad it worked out that way. I have an older brother who is in the Navy and stationed in Japan; and I won’t get to see him for years and years at a time. To do something in his honor, it’s a great thing.”

On going to church for herself: “I don’t necessarily define my faith by going to church every Sunday. Because now when I go to church, I feel like it’s a show. There are always cameras outside. I am very spiritual in my own way. Let me make it clear, though—I am a Christian. Jesus is who saved me. He’s what keeps me full and whole. But everyone is entitled to what they believe and what keeps them full. Hopefully, I can influence people and help them follow the same path I am on, but it is not my job to tell people what they are doing wrong.”

On finding love with Liam Hemsworth: “Nick [Jonas] and I were so young. We really did have a genuine love, but it wasn’t like this. We met when I was 12. I didn’t know who I was. I know who I am now and am so content and full of purpose. He [Justin Gaston] was a good person, so carefree. All I know is that I am so happy right now. I wasn’t last summer after I called it off with Justin and went away to film The Last Song. I cried all the way there. The last thing I was expecting to do was to fall in love. I went there thinking the summer was about me and getting focused on my career. But I guess God was like, ‘Girl, here is this amazing guy.’”

On her television guilty pleasure: “I am screwed up in the mind a little bit because I’m not like other 16- or 17-year-old girls. I have no perspective of who exactly my fans are, to tell you the truth. Teenage girls in general are hard for me. I’m not a girl’s girl. And I don’t really watch television at all. But there is one show I’m addicted to: RuPaul’s Drag Race. I love me some RuPaul. I love RuPaul’s motto. It goes something like, ‘A real lady is never bitchy, a real lady is sassy.’”

On saying farewell to Hannah: “What I am sure about is I’m going to rejoice and be happy to finally not have to be…well, to not be somebody I’m not exactly. As I’ve grown into it, I’ve grown out of it. Does that make sense? When I was 12, I thought, ‘I want to be famous all the time! I want everybody to recognize me!’ When they’re putting me in sparkles and in pink this final season, I have to grit my teeth. I can’t breathe looking like that anymore. A friend came by the set one day and said, ‘You don’t look very happy.’ I said, ‘I’m feeling claustrophobic in all these frills.’”
